From bespoke houses to commercial buildings, Low Carbon Construction’s highly experienced and professional management team delivers first class projects to both public and private sector clients across the UK.
What does Low Carbon Construction do?
We manufacture the structure of the building in modular format in our factory in Hampshire and can deliver and install it on site within a few days.
We deliver the structure complete with all external and internal walls, and can even install windows and doors in the factory ready for delivery and installation. The structure is assembled watertight on-site ready for internal fit out and external wall and roof finishes.
The Low Carbon Construction Building System and Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs)
The Low Carbon Construction Building System consists of 172mm thick SIP panels, connected with a unique jointing system for walls and roofs and intermediate floors using I-beams or open web joists. This system was used on the first house in the UK to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes – Level 6, as well as being the first SIP building system in the UK and Ireland to receive BBA and NSAI Agreement certification.
Increasing environmental awareness and the Code for Sustainable Homes has resulted in the active promotion of sustainable and energy efficient building methods. SIP panels are both environmentally friendly and ecologically sound. Made up of a core of polyurethane between two layers of Oriented Strand Board, SIP panels are as strong as concrete and seven times stronger than standard timber framed buildings. These SIP structures are incredibly energy efficient, consuming up to 70% less energy than a traditionally built property.
Together with the greatly reduced build times, a standard 3 bedroom home can be installed on site within 6 to 8 weeks of build commencement, with the lifespan of the properties being equal to those built using traditional construction methods, The Low Carbon Construction Building System can efficiently meet the needs of 21st century construction in the UK.
